Company description
Located in an authentic Muslim parapet or deadlock in the walled city of Requena, in the old street Del Pozo.
Not known to antiquity, but we know that in 1740 the house was bought by the Guild of Silk Weavers of an individual for administrative purposes, making it the headquarters of this important industry. Requena, with almost 900 active looms, became the fourth center of silk production in Spain, only behind cities such as Valencia, Toledo and Granada.
The raw material was brought in from Valencia, La Ribera and areas of Albacete, was manufactured here and then be distributed through the ports of Valencia, Sevilla and Cadiz. Much of requenenses tissues were exported to America.
