In its municipal dominates the landscape of vineyards, mainstay of its economy. This dry land is watered by rivers and Reatillo Magro and Athos promenade and Cabriel meandering in the southern part of the Natural Park of Cabriel Sickles. Yew Peak is the highest point of the municipality.
Among the points of interest of the end of Requena must stress the historic district of the town was declared a Historic-Artistic Site in 1966. It is a walled Muslim Caliphate period (s.VIII-XI), where travelers will find the Keep, the Casa del Arte Mayor de la Seda, the Gothic churches of Santa Maria and San Salvador and neoclassical Nicholas, called Palacio del Cid, numerous buildings noble and notable examples of traditional architecture. In the basement of this district are located numerous galleries, caves, from the Arab era, which served as housing and warehouses, which are still kept dozens of jars.
It is also interesting to visit the church of San Sebastian in the neighborhood of Las Penas, where you can check a sample unique Moorish architecture.
In the neighborhood Arrabal, which concentrates the main commercial activity and urban, is located the Church of Carmen and the Cloister of the former Carmelite convent, home to the current Municipal Museum of Archeology and Ethnology. In this district are also located the Technological Institute of Viticulture and Enology that focuses on research projects in the wine industry and the School of Viticulture and Enology "Felix Jimenez".
Among the major events and celebrations include the Harvest Festival, declared of national touristic interest, held in late August, the sample of sausage, and of Quality Craftsman in which products are promoted recognized Protected Geographical Indication: sausage, Chorizo, Güeña, Sobrasada, Sausage, Black Pudding Dog and, in mid-February, the Easter processions, during the months of March or April and the Wine Fair, Ferevin, which coincides with the Harvest Festival.
The municipality has a large number of wineries that produce excellent wines and bottle champagne and also because Requena is the only municipality in the Valencian Community that is included in the D. O. Cava.
